Steven C. Rockefeller Jr. Paid Another Trip to Beijing – Promoting the Exchanges of Chinese and Foreign Cultures

On Sept. 22nd, PUMC (Peking Union Medical College) 100th Anniversary Celebration was held in Beijing Hotel's Banquet Hall. PUMA was established with the sponsorship of the Rockefeller Foundation, which is also the Foundation’s largest and longest-term charitable assistance project in the oversea country. With the official invitation, Mr. Steven C. Rockefeller Jr., the Co-Chairman of Chinese Culture& Art International Organization (CCAIO), attended the event together with other members of the Rockefeller family and the elite representatives from the medical circle.

After the Celebration, Mr. Steven C. Rockefeller Jr., who is in deep love of Chinese culture, led the CCAIO team to successively meet the Chinese renowned artists, Mr. Liu Dawei, Mr. Liu Zhong, Mr. Li Zhiren, the Chairman of Kander’s in Taiwan, and Mr. Jiang Guofang. Moreover, Mr. Liu Dawei and Mr. Li Zhiren were invited to be the Senior Art Advisers of CCAIO.  Mr. Steven C. Rockefeller Jr. also witnessed the signing to establish Shifan Culture& Art Development Co., Ltd. this time.

With the hope of bringing the Chinese culture to the world, generating the cross-border influences and gaining more rights of discourse, “The Art Sparkle Creation Between The East And The West” Project undertaken by Shifan Culture& Art Development Co., Ltd. will start the first creation journey in Africa in 2018, promoting higher level exchanges and communications between the Chinese and western artists, and enabling the international society have a better understanding of the Chinese cultures.

As a lover of Chinese culture, Mr. Steven C. Rockefeller Jr. persists in studying Chinese traditional calligraphy and paintings. During the trip in Beijing, he collected a calligraphy work “和畅”(He Chang，means harmony, peace and happy) by artist Mark Cheung. Later, he will hold circuit exhibitions in the American universities like Yale etc. to promote the exchanges and spread of the Chinese calligraphy art.
